Liftoff of ULA’s Atlas V 551 with MUOS-2 at 9 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral. The successful launch of the MUOS-2 spacecraft ensures continued mission capability of the existing UHF system, and represents deployment of the second satellite in the next-generation narrowband tactical satellite communications system – providing significantly improved and assured mobile communications.
